Digging for Justice - Vibration White Finger Compensation
Winner of the PR Week Best Healthcare Campaign Award

Vibration White Finger is a condition affecting people who have worked with vibrating power tools. The objectives of this campaign were to highlight the condition so that ex-miners and their families could claim compensation from British Coal.

A targeted campaign resulted in wide spread national and regional coverage on television, radio and in the press. Medical media were also successfully targeted so that doctors and nurses could provide appropriate advice to sufferers.

It was described by PR Week Awards judge Martin Thomas as “A super campaign that created a high profile issue out of a little known medical condition.”

Announcing a New Global Presence
Winner of the PR Week Best International Campaign Award

Timeplex, a subsidiary of Unisys, was the world wide leader in enterprise networking. Following Timeplex’s acquisition by Swiss multinational Ascom, a campaign was needed to inform and reassure customers and partners throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Stuart Bruce co-ordinated an integrated communications campaign that included media relations, newsletters, a global satellite news conference, advertising, seminars, conferences and attendance at exhibitions.

It was described by PR Week Awards judge Roger Hayes as “A truly international campaign and by far the most comprehensive in its class”

Promoting an American software company in the UK and Europe

Rockliffe is a small software company based in Campbell, California. It develops email and messaging infrastructure software for both service providers (ISPs and telcos) and other organisations such as businesses and government departments.

To help Rockliffe launch into the UK and European market we provided a complete outsourced marketing communications office. A cost-effective media relations campaign resulted in extensive media coverage in specialist IT media as well as the wider business and management press. We also project managed Rockliffe’s participation in exhibitions and trade shows; produced case studies and white papers; developed relationships with European analysts; and advised on stakeholder relations.

Expansion for the University of Leeds

In 2001 the University of Leeds merged with Bretton Hall College near Wakefield. We were responsible for providing strategic communications counsel regarding all aspects of the merger. The audiences included staff, students, MPs, local authorities, prospective students and their parents and teachers, and employers.

The integrated communications programme used community relations, national and regional media relations, events (including a successful open day), public affairs, internal newsletters, a website, promotional literature and advertising.
